Hey there, guys!

FL 200
As you can see, it is Saturday and I am sitting here trying to get ready for classes. This means working on this blog and preparing a few instructional technology treats to spice up what we are going to be doing together in class as of next Tuesday.

This blog serves both my classes this term: FL200 and Spanish 301. Posts in English which are preceded by the FL 200 rubric have to do with you. Posts in Spanish have to do with my Spanish 301 students.

This blog will allow me to share with you the thoughts, ideas, etc. that I will be bringing to class on Tuesday and Thursday. That will happen often. Other times, I will come here to continue fleshing out topics which somehow we did not quite exhaust or which prompt in me additional commentary.

At the bottom of this blog you will see that I have included a widget listing other blogs. I will use it to list all your blogs, because it will be required that you create an open to all blog to start sharing with peers and the world your own thoughts, anxieties, reactions, intimations, creative thinking, etc. about literature and literary theory.

To the right you see that I have added another widget. It is a pilot project for virtual office hours using UpstreamTV. At home on TBA dates and times I will sit in front of my webcam. You wil have the opportunity to see me and listen to me. What's more important, you will be able to type in questions or concerns you want me to address using the chat window. We'll see how this works. If you like it and use it we will continue playing with it.

On Tuesday after introducing the basics of the class we will be working with the introduction of your literary theory manual (Click here to download). We will also play with two videos.

The first one is a Powerpuff girls' episode:

The second one has to do with the talented and lovely Mary Poppins:

See you Tuesday.
